All change!

For the past 18 months it has been my privilege to work with the team at Magmaker on Making Gifts Magazine as it’s Craft Editor, it has been an amazing journey and I have learnt a lot, met and worked with some wonderful and very talented people.

Magmaker have decided to change the publishing format of the magazine to an on-line version and therefore it is time for my editorship to finish, I’m a little sad but it is exciting too as I will have more time to stamp!

I will still be contributing to the on-line version of the magazine and indeed to it’s sister magazine Making Cards, so I will still be as busy as ever!

In order to launch the on-line version the first three editions are free for everyone !!!!!!

It is a wonderful opportunity to access the magazine, enjoy it.

Actually I was home on Saturday night!

We had  a great day on Saturday, thank you to everyone who stopped by to say hello.

The show organisers took the decision to close the show early at the end of business on Saturday because of the high winds expected overnight and during the day on Sunday, for the safety of the visitors and the exhibitors.  So we packed up and loaded the van and I was home by 8pm.

Yesterday was spent busy doing not a lot…………..A day off is an unexpected bonus so I baked cakes, watched movies and hung out with Brian and the kids it was lovely.

So how are you doing in the snow……….?  We have about 8″ here in south Hampshire, enough to bring the traffic to a stop on all the side roads.  My house is accessed up 2 small hills so no traffic has been moving here at all.  Worse still the UPS lorry can’t get up the hill to deliver my latest pile of Stampin’ Up! goodies!  Thankfully we are all safe and warm and the children are loving the snow days !

I have been crafting but for classes and the magazine so I can’t share at the moment but I will have some thing later today and over the weekend.

And so back to crafting……I hope you haven’t been blown or washed away over the weekend, the weather has been horrid here in the UK.  The sun has been out today in Hampshire so I have finally managed to get some pictures of these wonderful creatures.

My fantastic Mum and Dad visited whilst I was away in Germany.  My kids and Grandma (mainly Grandma I think…….) made these sock owls.  You will find the pattern in Issue 1 of Making Gifts Magazine,  check out the website here to find out how to get your copy.

I am so excited to be able to finally share this news with you all………….

I have been keeping a secret for months……………

Magmaker the publishers of Making Cards and the publishers of my Decoupage book are launching a new magazine on the 5th November 2009.

It’s called Making Gifts and I’m the Craft Editor.

The magazine is designed to give you projects to make high quality gifts, the kind that you can’t bear to give away.  It’s a multi craft title so we cover lots of different areas, so some projects will build on your existing skills, others will challenge you and teach you new skills and techniques.

Now I have your attention I have a secret I can share………..and I am so pleased you can share it too!

I have been working with the fantastic team at Magmaker, the publishers behind Making Cards Magazine to produce a book on Decoupage.

The book has 17 wonderful projects includes all types of Decoupage, Victorian, 3D, Papertole and of course my personal favourite Decoupage from rubber stamped images.  I designed a wide variety of projects including cards, gifts and home decor items, and each one has clear step by step photos and instructions.  Of course Stampin’ Up! stamps and products feature in the book along with lots of other stamps, papers and equipment.

I saw the final proof over the weekend and it looks wonderful, the design team have done a great job.  It will be for sale soon and I will keep you posted on publishing dates and where to find a copy.

I think there might be the odd giveaway on my website too !

In the January 2009 Making Cards magazine I had 3 projects published, the cards below are one of the projects. You can find details of the magazine here. The cards are using the brilliant Loads of Love stamp set and Loads of Love accessories.
