Well what a blustery day it has been ! I’m in Farnborough at the Make it! Show on the Magmaker stand (H6) promoting Making Gifts magazine, Making Cards magazine and of course my decoupage book.

The wind has really been gusting today and making the roof rattle, so much so I had to find my big voice to be heard over the top of it!

Thank you very much to all those lovely people who stopped by to say hello! Crafters are such wonderful people. Shows are a great opportunity to meet new people and learn new things. Each day I demonstrate different projects because many people come to the show for all 3 days and it think it’s important that they get to see something new each day.

One of the cards I was demonstrating today was a spinner card like the one below, it’s very straightforward once you know how !

I will do a tutorial for it next week, when I’m back from the show.

I have used the Birdcage stamp from the FREE Sale-a-bration stamp set along with the scallop circle punch and some designer series paper.

So how are you doing in the snow……….?  We have about 8″ here in south Hampshire, enough to bring the traffic to a stop on all the side roads.  My house is accessed up 2 small hills so no traffic has been moving here at all.  Worse still the UPS lorry can’t get up the hill to deliver my latest pile of Stampin’ Up! goodies!  Thankfully we are all safe and warm and the children are loving the snow days !

I have been crafting but for classes and the magazine so I can’t share at the moment but I will have some thing later today and over the weekend.

And so back to crafting……I hope you haven’t been blown or washed away over the weekend, the weather has been horrid here in the UK.  The sun has been out today in Hampshire so I have finally managed to get some pictures of these wonderful creatures.

My fantastic Mum and Dad visited whilst I was away in Germany.  My kids and Grandma (mainly Grandma I think…….) made these sock owls.  You will find the pattern in Issue 1 of Making Gifts Magazine,  check out the website here to find out how to get your copy.

I am so excited to be able to finally share this news with you all………….

I have been keeping a secret for months……………

Magmaker the publishers of Making Cards and the publishers of my Decoupage book are launching a new magazine on the 5th November 2009.

It’s called Making Gifts and I’m the Craft Editor.

The magazine is designed to give you projects to make high quality gifts, the kind that you can’t bear to give away.  It’s a multi craft title so we cover lots of different areas, so some projects will build on your existing skills, others will challenge you and teach you new skills and techniques.
