Just stamping

Sometimes it good to go back to basics and make cards just with stamping. Collage style like this first card is one of my favourites. You can go vintage using soft colours, but I went for a bright pop of, yes you guessed in BLUE! If you are new here you might not know my favourite colour is blue……and I have a hard time picking any other colour when I start to design, but for those of you who have been around for a while, you would have been saying Amanda always picks blue…….. (I know I’m so predictable!)

I started out with the circle stamp from Elements of Text stamp set and then built up using several blue shades. The sketched butterflies stamp set is in the last chance list and at the time of posting was still available.

Is this next card blue??? well kind of, its Pretty Peacock and Pool Party. Just stamping again, this time with the addition of a few squares to add interest and texture but no bulk.

The snowflakes are from Sparkling Snowflakes and they are also on the last chance list, currently for sale in the UK at £7.60, eeek! Don’t wait get your order in!

We’ve had a really busy week. Brian was 60, so we went away for the weekend to the Forest of Dean, Connor, Kim and Dom joined us and we had a great weekend chilling out. On Saturday we spent 5 hours at a forge, learning blacksmithing. It was fun, hot and tiring work, but look at the amazing knives we all made. I’ll show mine properly at Craft and Chat on Tuesday.

This weekend looks like its going to be exciting with the weather heading for the south coast, storm, lightening, hail and even flooding expected. Absolutely not normal for June in the UK. Do stay safe if you are out and about.

We will be finishing the drive, the jet washing worked really well, but it now needs lots of sand! Then, I’m looking forward to trialing Brians NEW pizza stone, lots of spicy pizza and a glass of wine after a busy day.
