Perfect Card Blanks, Mats and Layers

One of the most important things when making cards is getting the card blanks, mats and layers right and even. I have always been determined to make my crafting straightforward and easy to do. So I have been making my card bases and mats and layers in the same way for years, the measurements give me perfect results every time.

Today I am sharing 2 videos using A4 card and my system to show you how to make portrait and landscape cards in both inches and cms. I have a pdf that you can print out for both as well. My USA and Canadian friends, I haven’t forgotten you, I don’t have a video but I do have a pdf for you, using 8 1/2″ x 11″ card and inches.

The reason my system works well, is because I don’t faff about with fiddly little bits of card or measurements like 1/16″ or 3mm, I actually trim down the A4 card. Don’t panic it is only a little bit, but I promise it makes measuring so much easier! The card below is a prime example, perfect layers every single time!

So here are the videos, these are a blast from the past, one is 9 years old the other 6, I did say I’ve been working this way for years. Actually is considerably more than 9………!
