I love getting emails and messages from my awesome customers. Especially when they are asking for some help, advice or ideas for their crafting. Last week a received a request to showcase ways of not colouring in line art stamped images. Stamps such as Simply Beautiful are designed to be coloured in, but sometimes we don’t have the time or the patience to do that. So in this weeks Craft and Chat replay I showcase 3 different ways to have no colouring on your cards! But to still get an image that pops! Each of the 3 cards has exactly the same design and background the awesome 3D embossing folder Exposed Brick, and my new favourite ribbon, White with Gold 3/8″.

I started out using blending brushes, they are such a quick way of getting subtle colour onto your images. Of course you can build the colour to be as deep as you want. The stamp set I used is called Family Ties, a very simple Mothers and Fathers Day set, but a great one.

For the second card I stamped onto patterned paper, in this case the 6″ x6″ Brights Paper. Any patterned paper works, but I recommend a small ish pattern. I stamped the Daffodil Delight layer twice to give a bit more definition. Of course you can use the dies that come as part of the bundle or fussy cut, whichever you prefer.

The final card used a water colour wash. Now I did technically colour in the card, but I did a really quick wash and then stamped, so I didn’t actually colour anything in. Hmmmm, I hope you think it counts! The sentiment is from Charming Day, its one of may favourite Happy Birthdays, and its currently on the last chance list, so don’t miss out!
