I love Halloween, well actually I love Witches ! From watching the Wizard of Oz as a child often behind the sofa and every fairytale book I’ve read growing up, to the modern stories, musicals ( Wicked is amazing) Witches have always been something I love. So this new Autumn Winter Seasonal Stampin Up! UK catalogue is fabby, lots of halloween stuff and a really cute set with a witch in it! It does have some amazing Christmas, Autumn and other things in it too!!!!!
Last Saturday was our Stampin’ Up! Leadership training day, there were 14 of my team attending and it was lovely to see them all, along with my many other Stampin’ Up! friends. the training was inspirational and the projects cute and I had made lots of swaps using that cute Witch ( I’ll show you that tomorrow!) so got lots of them in return along with some special gifts which I will share with you over the next few days.
Today I’m going to share my Witches Hat with you, it’s a small treat holder and fit 5 scrummy toffees inside. I made these for my team and for some special Stampin’ Up! friends too.
I have used lots of new products to make this treat holder, read on for the dimensions and very straightforward instructions.
I used Basic Black card and stamped randomly all over with the star from Scentsational Season and the new Illuminate ink, it’s a soft silvery shimmer and very pretty.
The main box measures 4″ x 11 1/2″ and score it at 5 3/4″ , make a pencil mark on each short end at 2″.
You now need to score from the pencil mark to the outside edge score line at 5 3/4″ it sounds more complicated than it is, this picture shows how I did it using my Simply Scored board. I ran a pencil line along the full length of the board at 6″ it made lining up the pieces really easy.
You then fold the 2 halves together and punch holes in the sides, you can see on the picture above where I have done that.
This is what your treat holder will look like once it’s scored and folded. With some lovely Gumball Green Sweater trim to secure the top.
The brim is made from a 6 3/4″ x 1″ piece of black card, stamped as before, the 2 sides are trimmed on a diagonal to fit the treat holder. The Gumbal green piece is 3/4″ x 4″ and I have uded the striped satin ribbon and a Designer Ribbon Slide from the Autumn Winter seasonal catalogue to finish it off! I stuck the green band onto the brim and then the brim onto the hat using tombow.
