My craft room ! I know I have been a little quiet lately but boy has it been busy here.

So first things first congratulations to the my awesome daughter Kimberley who has got 4 A’s and a B in her AS levels, her hard work has paid off, so now she can get down to applying for University and then the A2 work starts!

This post is going to be very picture heavy but I am so excited and it’s only about 1/3rd done……….. There are lots of pictures of storage solutions too so do check those out.

A little background history, I work my Stampin’ Up! business full time from home so I need plenty of office and crafting space and LOTS of storage!  A couple of years ago we built an extension, the original plan was for part of that to be my office, but we loved the room so much it became our lounge.  So my craft ‘cave’ stayed in the old lounge/diner and we like to ponder things for a while, so fast forward 2 years later we now have a plan, and wow it is in action !!!!

So here is my gorgeous Brian what you can see on the left is what will be my craft room/office in the pale blue.  The cupboards and shelves on the right, there is a huge window behind Brian and then I will be having more cupboards on the walls and floor on the left.  The room is open plan and the rest of it has the kids TV, music, games consoles etc.  I must point out the Pokemon dust sheet, covering the radiator……just incase you thought it was a design feature……

Beginning to fill the shelves.

This is what it looked like when it was finished and full. Now I promise that is ALL my stamps !!!!  You may laugh, but my team think I have everything in the catalogue, but honestly I don’t.

So some close ups, these are little jars from ikea they are called Rajtan and are 4 for £1.50, I keep all my buttons, brads and pegs in them.

Did you know Stampin’ Up! sell empty Clear and Wood mount cases?  I use them for storing all sorts of things, and it makes my OCD happy that they fit nicely on the shelf! Oh and I’m a labelling junkie now………..I use a P-Touch.

I have bought more cases and am slowly converting all my old style boxes to those, but these 2 stamp sets I will never change.  Lovely as a Tree is the only stamp set still in our catalogue from when we launched in 2007 and Summer by the Sea is the only retired set I own.  I adored the set and foolishly sold mine several years ago, but my awesome hubby tracked one down and it was part of my Christmas present !

The accessory sets for Project Life fit perfectly inside a cello bag, 2 in a wood mount case.

A Big Shot die box holds all my photos I am currently working on and there is my fab Selphy printer.

So onto paper storage, this is my most asked question.  I have to confess that in the spare room I have my spare card……..Full packs of my most used colours and usually 5 packs each of Whisper White and Very Vanilla, you will see where the open packs live in a minute.

So in this cupboard I have all my 12×12 paper, speciality papers and Simply Created kits.

This is where my open packs of card live, a small 2 drawer filing cabinet. That lovely Hello was on my door on the cruise in the summer a gift from Stampin’ Up! , it’s wood and magnetic. Now look at that amazing Coral carpet……..it’s finally going and we have Oak flooring coming in at the end of September, then we can have the floor units in and my crafting desk added too.

Each colour has a hanging file and that’s where they live, my chair is immediately right of the filing cabinet so I don’t need to move far to get my card stock.

Now on the opposite side, this is where we are working at the moment, but I have a couple of things to show you, this is where my spare ink pads and re-inkers live.

Brian is a fantastic builder, designer, creator of anything wood, metal and plastic and has an amazing eye for detail, so it is down to him that things are moving so fast.  He is also the sensible one of the operation, when my wacky ideas go a little too far……..

I do have a few very important jobs….. I pick the colours and the cabinets, I help build them, make tea, but mostly I hoover up the drilling mess !

I’ll be back soon.
