As promised here is the start of the tales of my travels. The actual incentive trip was from Wednesday to Sunday, Brian and I extended the trip so we flew out on the Monday and back on the Monday.
The pool area of the hotel was lovely, so we spent the first day just relaxing in the sunshine.
Then we went off on our first adventure, Brian loves Landrover’s and we wanted to do a tour of the island so combining the 2 seemed like a good idea. Trip Advisor is amazing for finding small tour companies and individual service which is what we found with Jeff from Hit the Road Madeira. We went all over the island with Kerry and Jay, on road and off road as you can see. We spent lots of time up in the mountains up above the clouds which was amazing.
Madeira is famous for it’s Lavadas and lots of people travel to the island especially to walk them, they are deep channels designed to move the water from the mountains to where it is needed, there are miles and miles of them. They are an amazing feat of engineering. Jeff dropped us off so we could stretch our legs and walk along side one.
We then headed towards Porto Moniz and as you can see we where really high up, the coming down was a bit hair raising……. very steep!
Then we stopped for lunch it was amazing and the views stunning !

We had a great afternoon and then it was a dash back to the hotel, for a wash and brush up ready for the welcome dinner. I have ‘borrowed’ this from the official photographer, what a lovely looking bunch !
