A pink card form me today, well mainly pink. Of course there had to be some blue in there! This birthday card is using the lovely Vibrant vases stamp set you will find it on page 61 of the annual Stampin’ Up! catalogue next door to its sister stamp set Varied vases. The fab thing about both stamp sets I they have a matching punch. Not that I’ve used it on the card….. but it’s pretty awesome to have a matching punch.
I’m not sure how easily you will be able to see the embossing on the Night of Navy layer. It’s using the Scripty 3D embossing folder which gives a really subtle word emboss. I then punched out a 2 1/4″ circle of Whisper White card and then stamped the shelf, followed by the vases. Normally I would stamp first and then punch out, but it’s important to do it the other way around so you can fit all the vases in the circle. You do have to overlap them. The colours for the vases are Night of Navy, Blushing Bride and Melon Mambo.
Then I stamped the flower stem. Firstly into the Night of Navy vase, so it showed above the vase. Then again on a scrap piece of Whisper White card and filled in the flowers using the matching stamp and Melon Mambo ink. It was then time for some fussy cutting, I trimmed the bottom of the stem so it would match what was showing on the circle, glued it down and assembled the card.
Lets talk about embossing folders! On the list of products you will see I have put a NEW blue embossing plate. It’s like the clear cutting plates, but thicker and blue…… We changed manufacturer with the catalogue in June and the NEW 3D embossing folders are a little bit thinner than the previous ones. This means if you have the standard clear plates you might need to add shim or 2 of card stock along with one clear plate. I find cereal packets work great! Since very machine is different, you might find you don’t need anything extra.
Or to save you having to shim, you can buy the pretty blue plate. If you bought 3D folders before June, don’t worry this doesn’t affect them, you just carry on with one clear plate. It’s up to you!

Did you have a good weekend? We did, even got some gardening in, planting more lavenders….. Hmm we have over 50 Lavender bushes! My excuse is its good for the bees, and I adore the smell. Our climbing French beans took a battering in the winds though so I think that crop is finished for this year, which is very sad.
Gosport Card Class tonight, which is always fun, see you on Wednesday!
