Mixed Florals Shadow Technique

You will be seeing a lot of the stamp set I’m featuring today, its part of the Online Exclusives January launch and it is really versatile. I made 2 cards in the video, the first was all about using the blends to colour the image, and then I shared a fun shadow technique onto Crumb Cake card. Its quick to do and gives great results.

Before I got crafting, I did share lots of information about all the new products that launched this week. There is a lot of amazing crafting goodies and I would hate for you to not be able to find them!

When using blends its really important to stamp in either Memento Black ink or Stampin’ Up! ink. Don’t use a solvent based ink such as Stazon, because it will bleed. I always lay down the dark shade of the 2 you get in each pack and then blend with the lighter shade. I also always use the bullet tip and work in one direction rather than scrubbing back and forward. I don’t know if that is the ‘proper’ way to do it….. but it works for me.

You just need a water spritzer and a little bit of time to make the next card. You need to allow it to dry. You can speed up the drying process but it can blast the water/ink mixture too far, so use with caution.

Once its completely dry over stamp, a tiny bit off set and then splatter with stamps, ink, water brushes and Wink of Stella.

This next picture shows the image before over stamping, so you can see how the ink bleeds. Using Crumb Cake card works really well for this technique.
