All of a sudden its Autumn here in the UK. Its dark around 7pm, we’ve got extra blankets on the bed, its chilly but not chilly enough for the big duvet. The fire is on most nights, but I’m sure the central heating will be switched on soon. How did that happen exactly?

So in honour of Autumn being well and truly on its way i have a couple of birthday cards for you today. Both quick and simple with stamping.

First up, one of my favourite stamp sets of the moment Winter Scenes. I stamped the sentiment first, then used the Birch Wood 3D embossing folder for the background. My new favourite dies Nested Essentials cut out the image, and I stamped in Early Espresso. A tiny bit of water on an aqua painter softens and colours in the image. I love stamping on Crumb Cake, it gives a lovely effect.

This second card is again simple stamping with a bit of colouring in this time using a Scrapbooking stamp set called Weekend adventures. It has great sentiments but I focussed on the lovely enamelled cup and flower images.

I love Z-fold cards, they are so straight forward to make. Choose your favourite size of card and fold the front in half, mat and layer. The dies are from Impressions abloom, it has 2 oval dies, one to cut an oval and a frame with the dots, and one which is a plain oval. I used a variety of blends to colour in the image. The plain oval covers the back of the coloured in image, blends always bleed through to the back. For the patterned paper layers I used Autumn Toile.

We have a slightly calmer weekend planned, I have a De-stash sale Saturday morning and then we have some more gardening to do. Its just tinkering at this time of year, a bit of weeding and tidying. The best bit is the seed and plant catalogues are beginning to arrive so we can start to make plans for next year. I’m determined to have a patch for cut flowers, so any recommendations for plants to grow I would really appreciate your input. Apart from Lilies……. urgh……. I can’t stand the smell!

I hope you have a wonderful weekend whatever you are up to, I’ll be back on Monday with more information about the BEST joining offer EVER, £95 of products FREE! and of course I’m back live crafting on Youtube on Tuesday, Craft and Chat is back weekly! Hurrah!
